WORLD ENVIRONMENT WEEK CELEBRATION 2025-26
A rally titled “Stop Plastic Pollution” was organized by the Diocese of Durgapur on the occasion of World Environment Week. With the help of the local administration, Community Development Program, Children’s Hostel Ministry, St. Michael’s Church, Durgapur United Church as well as St. Michael’s School were also invited to participate and show their support for a meaningful cause.
A total of 68 people from our school participated in this rally for spreading environmental awareness, which included 41 students from classes IX to XII and 27 teachers. The rally started around 4:30 p.m. and continued up to 5:30 p.m. The objective of this rally was to stoke public consciousness about the ongoing global issues related to environmental degradation. It was meant to address the massive environmental problems caused by plastic waste – including damage to the ecosystem and human health. It was an effective and full-fledged effort by the Diocese of Durgapur and we are proud to be a part of it. The rally’s motto “Think Green, Live Green” is extremely relevant in today’s context. The youth is the future of the society and teachers are the torchbearers of their journey towards a brighter, healthier and safer future. By involving them in this venture we have resolved to leave a greener and happier world as a gift for posterity. We strongly believe that active individual participation is the only key to overcoming the seeming unsurmountable environmental challenges.
