SWACHHATA HI SEVA 2023
SWACHH BHARAT MISSION ACTIVITY
Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) – ‘Garbage Free India’
“Cleanliness is next to Godliness”.
We all have heard this proverb many times and also know its meaning. Cleanliness plays a very important role not only for us but also for the whole society. It is our duty to keep ourselves as well as our society neat and clean.
As part of the campaign for Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) , various activities were conducted in our school, St.Michael’s School, Durgapur, to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and the “Swachh Bharat” cleanliness drive started by our honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.
On the 26th of September,2023 various activities were organised , where all the students from Classes Pre-Nursery to Class 5, participated . The Pre-Nursery section did an activity on “Swachhata ka tool” (broom with paper). The Nursery section’s activity was on “Reuse and Recycle” ( Envelope making), the K.G section’s activity was on “Say No to Plastic” ( chart representation on plastic items),the Class 1’s activity was on the use of garbage bins ( chart representation on the recognition and the use of different coloured bins) and the Class 2’s activity was on “ Waste to Wealth” ( DIY Pencil/Pen holder). Classes 3 to 5 students conducted a special assembly on the same topic with posters and speeches.A special pledge was taken by the whole school to keep our environment clean and make it a better place to live in.
Swachh Bharat Mission activity successfully engaged the students to realize the importance of the mission and provided them with the correct knowledge of using things judiciously . Thus, all the above activities conducted by the school, enabled the children to take this mission of cleanliness to the community, thereby creating mass awareness.
