PREFECTS INVESTITURE CEREMONY (2023-2024)
St. Michael’s School takes pride in nurturing potential leadership qualities amongst today’s youth. The Prefect Investiture Ceremony for the session 2023- 2024 was held on 30th June 2023. Students of classes five and twelve were invested with duties for the Primary and Secondary sections respectively.
This glorious occasion was marked by the presence of our honourable Chief Guest, Mr. Partha Pratim Roy, AGM of the Personnel Department of Durgapur Steel Plant and Sports Officer; and several other dignitaries. Revd. Sinha led the school in prayer, while Revd. Haldar blessed the School Banner, the prefectural badges and the ties. The Principal handed over the School Flag to the School Captain. The Headmistress, the teachers of Physical Education, the House Masters and the House Mistresses handed over the ties and badges to the several office bearers and prefects. The oath taking ceremony was led by the School Captain. A sense of pride in serving the school was reflected in their eyes and their joy was almost palpable.
The ceremony was enlivened by the presence of the parents. The Chief Guest’s speech inspired the audience. The Principal’s vote of thanks marked the end of the ceremony. The School Choir presented a special song for the Chief Guest and honourable dignitaries, besides playing the processional and recessional hymns. The day marked the onset of the duties and responsibilities for the chosen candidates for the present academic session.
