NATIONAL YOUTH PARLIAMENT, KISHORE SABHA 2024-25

Nelson Mandela had aptly said,” The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow”. St.Michael’s School, Durgapur, was indeed privileged to have hosted the National Youth Parliament,  Kishore Sabha for the first time on Saturday, 8th February, 2025.

 

Our distinguished guests, Reverend Rabindranath Ray of the Diocese of Durgapur, veteran Rotarians Mr. Pulak Kumar Bandopadhyay and Mrs.Malabika Mukherjee graced the occasion with their honourable presence.

 

The Odeum almost became a miniature of the Lower Chamber of the Indian Parliament with around sixty youngsters playing the role of our legislators. Questions on pertinent issues were raised, their answers amicably provided along with a vigorous session of debate and discussion. Our Principal encouraged and congratulated the participants with his words of wisdom. We are really proud to have been a part of this nationwide project launched by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India that will not only create a general awareness among our youth but also develop a spirit of cooperation, teamwork and inculcate the art of public speaking. We shall look forward to many more such events in future in order to bring up a more vibrant and responsible generation.
