MATHEMATICS ACTIVITY DAY 2025-26
St. Michael’s School, Durgapur celebrated Mathematics Activity Day on 23rd September 2025 with great enthusiasm. The event was specially designed for the students of Classes Pre-Nursery to Class 2, aiming to make mathematics fun, interactive, and meaningful through various hands-on activities.
The day began with the Pre-Nursery children engaging in a Counting 1–10 puzzle activity, which helped them strengthen their number recognition and sequencing skills.
In Nursery A, children worked with numbers through the concepts of before, between, and after, while Nursery B explored the world of shapes, learning to identify and differentiate them in an enjoyable manner.
The students of KG actively participated in activities on Simple Addition and Subtraction, where they used practical examples to understand the basics of arithmetic operations.
Moving further, Class 1 showcased their skills in Addition and in Representing Tens and Ones using an Abacus. The creative use of bindis to represent numbers made the activity exciting and visually appealing for the young learners.
The students of Class 2 confidently presented their understanding of Clocks, Days of the Week, and Months of the Year. These activities not only enhanced their mathematical concepts but also built their awareness of time and calendar skills. The Mathematics Activity Day proved to be a joyful and enriching experience for all the participants. It created a platform where children could learn beyond textbooks, apply concepts in practical ways, and develop a love for mathematics from an early age.
