HINDI ACTIVITY DAY 2026-27
To promote language proficiency, cultural appreciation, and creative self-expression, St. Michael’s School, Durgapur, organised a series of Hindi Language Activities for the Primary Section (Class 1–5) during the academic session 2026–2027. The activities were thoughtfully designed to suit the cognitive and linguistic development of young learners. Through interactive learning, visual aids, grammar-based activities, role play, value-based education, and research-oriented tasks, students actively participated in meaningful learning experiences. These activities enhanced their language skills, creativity, critical thinking, confidence, and overall cognitive development, while fostering an appreciation for the richness of the Hindi language and the Indian culture.
Class-Wise Activity:
Class 1
Traffic Light and Road Safety
During the activity, children were taught about the different colours of traffic lights and their meanings. They were also made aware of the correct and safe way to cross the road.
This activity helped in enhancing the cognitive development of the children. Through this, they understood the importance of road safety precautions and how to follow traffic rules in daily life.
Two-Letter Words
The children learned to form two-letter words through engaging classroom activities.
Class 2
Matras
The children learned Hindi vowel signs (Matras) through engaging classroom activities. They actively participated in reading, writing, and pronunciation exercises, which enhanced their language skills and understanding of Hindi. The activities also promoted their cognitive development by improving their memory, comprehension, and thinking abilities. Overall, the learning experience was enjoyable, interactive, and effective.
Opposite Words
Focusing on language building, students were engaged in interactive activities revolving around antonyms in Hindi. This exercise enhanced their understanding of word meanings and language contrasts.
Class 3
National Symbols of India
The children learned about the National Symbols of India through interesting classroom activities. These activities enhanced their knowledge, observation, and understanding of the country’s heritage.
Opposite Words
Focusing on language-building, students were made to participate in interactive activities based on antonyms in Hindi. This exercise enhanced their understanding of word meanings and the concept of contrasts in Hindi language.
Class 4
Nouns
An activity on the ‘Kinds of Nouns’ was conducted in the classroom. The children learned about the different kinds of nouns and understood their meanings through pictures and suitable examples. They actively participated in the activity, which made learning interesting and effective.

Prime Ministers of India
An activity on the Prime Ministers of India was conducted in the classroom. The children learned about the Prime Ministers of India, their names, and the duration of their respective tenures. They actively participated in the activity and gained knowledge about the country’s leadership and democratic system. The session enhanced their general awareness, memory, and understanding of Indian history and governance. As a result, the children’s cognitive development was significantly improved.
