Celebrating the Bard of Bengal: St. Michael School’s Tribute to Rabindranath Tagore

On May 8, 2025, St. Michael’s School, Durgapur, celebrated Rabindra Jayanti 2025 with great enthusiasm and fervour.The extended assembly was filled with vibrant performances, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of our nation.
The celebration began with the lighting of a lamp in front of Rabindranath Tagore’s photograph, which was garlanded in honour of the great poet. The students then presented captivating dance performances. The students also showcased their recitation skills, presenting poignant Bengali and English poems that highlighted Tagore’s profound impact on literature and society.
The celebration was a fitting tribute to the Bard of Bengal, and it inspired the students to embody the values of freedom, creativity, and intellectual curiosity that Tagore embodied. With this celebration, St. Michael’s School reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing creative minds and fostering a love for the arts.
