ANNUAL SPORTS MEET (SENIOR) 2025
The Senior Section of St. Michael’s School, Durgapur, conducted its Annual Sports Meet 2025 on Wednesday, 26th November 2025; with much enthusiasm and disciplined participation of the students of Classes 6 to 12. The programme began at 01:00 p.m. It was opened with a solemn prayer and a well-coordinated March Past in the presence of the Chairman, The Rt. Revd. Sir Sameer Isaac Khimla, the Principal, Mr. Charles Joseph Nyss, the Vice-Principal, Mr. Avinash George Prasad, the Headmistress, Mrs. Sarika Khimla, the School Chaplain, Revd. Sandipan Sinha, Revd. Halder and several other dignitaries.
The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Vivek Singh, active and renowned Footballer playing at both State and National levels, who deeply appreciated the sporting talents of our students and encouraged them to uphold excellence and the spirit of true sportsmanship. A series of track and field events, drills, relay races and Tug-of-War were organised. They highlighted the zeal and the competitive spirit of the participants. Students from Classes 6 to 12 competed with dedication, creating an atmosphere of energy and unity throughout the day.
The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony, recognising outstanding achievements for the year. Md. Danish (Class 12B) and Archita Barik (Class 11B) were declared Best Athlete (Boys) and Best Athlete (Girls) respectively. St. George’s House emerged as the Winning House and secured the Senior March Past Trophy, while St. Andrew’s House and St. Patrick’s House jointly received the Junior March Past Trophy.
The sports meet concluded with the closing March Past, a Vote of Thanks by the Vice Principal, the School Song and the National Anthem. The day marked a successful celebration of discipline, teamwork and sporting spirit.
