ANNUAL SPORTS MEET (JUNIOR) 2025 – 2026
The Junior Section of St. Michael’s School, Durgapur, celebrated its Annual Sports Meet 2025 on Wednesday, 26th November 2025; with great enthusiasm and cheerful participation of the students of Pre-Nursery to Class 5. The programme commenced with the assembly of students, the Opening Prayer, the lighting of the torch, and a beautifully synchronised March Past by Class 5.
Distinguished dignitaries had graced the occasion with their honoured presence. Our Chairman, the Rt. Revd. Sameer Isaac Khimla, the Principal, Mr Charles Joseph Nyss, the Vice-Principal, Mr Avinash George Prasad, the Headmistress, Mrs Sarika Khimla, the School Chaplain, Rev. Sandipan Sinha and Reverend Halder had handed over mrdals and certificates. The meet was declared open by the Chief Guest Mr. Soumen Banerjee, former renowned Badminton Player at the National level. His encouraging words gave inspiration to the young participants.
The sports meet featured a variety of age-appropriate activities like drills, novelty races, flat races and relay races, that were designed to promote confidence, coordination and teamwork among the children. Students from Pre-Nursery to KG presented a vibrant opening drill, while Classes 1 to 5 participated in engaging athletic displays and sprint events. The activities brought colour and excitement, besides reflecting the enthusiasm, discipline and sportsmanship of the young Michaelites. The active involvement of parents in their special races added warmth and joy to the occasion, making the event truly inclusive.
The programme concluded with the distribution of prizes to deserving winners, followed by the Closing March Past by class 5, a sincere Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem. The Annual Sports Meet 2025 stood as a celebration of youthful energy, sportsmanship and the holistic development of every child, leaving behind a day filled with pride, joy and unforgettable memories.
