ANNUAL PRIZE DAY 2026-27
The Annual Prize Day of the Primary Section, St. Michael’s School, was celebrated with immense joy and innocence on the 16th May, 2026, in the school auditorium. The event commenced at 8:30 a.m.
The occasion was graced by Rev. Sandipan Sinha, Presbyter-in- charge, St. Michael’s & All Angel’s Cathedral; Rev. Babul Sardar, Presbyter, St. Michael’s & All Angel’s Cathedral, Mrs. Jacqueline Nyss, Headmistress, St. Peter’s School, Benachity; Mr. Amit Chatterjee, President of Alumni Association; and Mr. Aagnik Basu, Convener of St. Michael’s Alumni Association. They were felicitated by the principal, Mr. Charles Joseph Nyss; Mr. Avinash George Prasad, Vice-Principal; and Mrs. Sarika Gracy Khimla, Headmistress. Proud parents attended in large numbers.
The programme commenced with a word of prayer by Rev. Babul Sardar followed by a vibrant opening dance performance by the students of Junior Section. The hard work and efforts of the students were greatly appreciated, during the Prize Distribution Ceremony. The dignitaries felicitated young achievers with medals, and certificates for scholastic excellence, conduct and attendance. Special awards such as ‘Star Student of the Year’, ‘Promising Student of the Year’, and ‘Diligent student of the year’ brought radiant smiles to the recipients.
The Headmistress, Mrs. Sarika Gracy Khimla delivered the vote of thanks expressing heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries and parents. The closing prayer was led by Rev. Sandipan Sinha and the ceremony concluded with the School Song followed by the National Anthem.
In a similar vein, the Senior Secondary School held its Prize Distribution Ceremony on the same date. The event commenced at 10:30 a.m. in the school auditorium.
The ceremony was distinguished by the presence of the Bishop and Chairman of the Diocese of Durgapur, Rt. Rev. Sameer Issac Khimla; Rev. Sandipan Sinha, Presbyter-in-Charge, St. Michael’s & All Angels’ Cathedral; Rev. Babul Sardar, Presbyter, St. Michael’s & All Angels’ Cathedral; Mr. John Paramata, Principal, St. Peter’s School, Durgapur; Mrs. Jacqueline Nyss, Headmistress, St. Peter’s School, Benachity; Mrs. Nandita Kashyap, from Mission Girls’ High School, Bankura; and Mrs. Nivedita Bagal, Member of the Board, Diocese of Durgapur. The dignitaries were felicitated by the Principal, Mr. Charles Joseph Nyss; Mr. Avinash George Prasad, Vice-Principal; and Mrs. Sarika Gracy Khimla, Headmistress.
The dignitaries awarded prizes to the achievers of the Secondary Section, for their academic and co-curricular excellence. applauding their dedication and success.
A moment of great exhilaration ensued when St. George’s House was proclaimed the Cock House in recognition of its exemplary achievements. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Vice-Principal, after which the Bishop led the closing prayer and pronounced the benediction. The formal conclusion of the ceremony was marked by the rendition of the School Song and the National Anthem. The event proved to be a memorable occasion, inspiring the young learners to pursue knowledge with joy, diligence, and integrity.
