THE TELEGRAPH SCHOOL AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE 2025-26
It was on occasion of immense pride and honour when St. Michael’s School, Durgapur, was recognized for its excellence in myriad fields of educational practices. Saturday, 23rd August 2025 will remain branded in our memories for the recognition that St. Michael’s family achieved at the South City International School in Kolkata.
The 30th Telegraph School Awards was organized by the Telegraph Education Foundation, where more than 6000 schools had participated and only around 200 schools were acknowledged for their excellence in various categories of awards. We had applied for 15 categories, out of which we were successful in bagging awards in 8 of them.
Under School Awards category we got certificates for ‘A School That Cares’, ‘Excellence in Eco-friendly initiatives’, ‘Excellence in Extra-curricular Activities’ and ‘Excellence in Social Services.’ Under the Individual Awards category, we received 4 certificates. Kuntal Biswas of Class 9A received for Outstanding Performance in Sports (Karate), Sinjini Goswami of Class 9B received for Outstanding Performance in Art (Music), Rohit Mondal of Class 11C received for the Award for Courage and our Service Staff, Mr. Ramji Pandit received the Shining Star Employee Award. The felicitation took place once again at the Morning Assembly on Tuesday, 26th August 2025 for sharing the news of this achievement with all students, teachers and staff members.
The Principal, the Vice-Principal, the three students and two teachers Mrs. Swati Chatterjee and Mrs. Usree Biswas Mandal, had attended the function and were privileged enough to witness the moment of great joy and glory. Such prestigious awards definitely bolster our confidence and provide us with the much needed enthusiasm to strive harder for better performances in future.
