INTER – ICSE SCHOOLS’ ACADEMIC CONTEST
On 28th and 29th November 2025, St. Michael’s School, Durgapur participated in the IGNITE 2025, an Inter ICSE Schools’ Academic Contest, hosted by St. Xavier’s School, Durgapur. Nine ICSE schools from all over Durgapur took part in this two-day event and St. Michael’s School showed active participation in all the nine events and bagged prizes in some of them. The accolades are as follows:
1. ELOCUTION CONTEST – SHREYASH ROY (CLASS 7) First Prize
2. ESSAY CONTEST – PARAMESH BHUIYA (CLASS 10) First Prize
3. PICTURE COMPOSITION CONTEST – OISHI SANA (CLASS 5) Second Prize
4. WORD POWER CONTEST – RAJANYA DHARA (CLASS3) Second Prize
Other Participants who had put up a tough fight by sometimes reaching the semi-finals and sometimes being a part of the tie breaker round were admired and appreciated for their efforts. They are as follows:
1. LITERARY AND LINGUISTIC QUIZ – SAYANTIKA GORAI & AYUSH MUKHERJEE (CLASS 9) Acquired third position in the semi-Finals (Participation Certificate)
2. RECITATION CONTEST – KHUSHI ROY (CLASS 4) Participation certificate
3. STORY –TELLING CONTEST – ADITYA CHANDA (CLASS 6) Participation certificate
4. STORY- WRITING CONTEST – SRIJA PAUL (CLASS 8) Participation certificate
5. DEBATE CONTEST – HRISHAV KARMAKAR & ARUNMOY GUCHAIT (CLASS 10) Participation certificate
However, the ultimate victory in a competition is derived from the inner satisfaction of knowing that you have done your best and that you have gotten the most out of what you had to give. The enthusiastic students embraced the spirit of learning and contributed meaningfully to this year’s IGNITE experience.
