ANNUAL CONCERT 2025
The students of St. Michael’s School, Durgapur, poured into the evening of 17th December 2025, a lot of light and joy as they staged their Annual Concert. This year both the juniors and the seniors performed and won over the hearts of the guests and parents. The individual performances were stringed under the theme of The Symphony of Stars.
Our predominant aim was to showcase the talents of our students, besides spreading the message of hope and joy that resonates through all creations and this universe. We wish to make the youth realize that the eternal music of the soul is synchronized with the heavenly harmony and the cadence that pervades the natural world. It is this symphony of life that should unite us all despite man made differences.
The program began with the Bible reading and the Opening Prayer by the School Chaplain. Thereafter the opening dance was followed by the Principal’s welcome address, the lamp lighting ceremony and the Chairman’s address. Right from the Pre-Primary to Class five, the junior students presented their dance numbers with great enthusiasm and gusto. Their festive spirit set the tone of the evening.
The English, Hindi and Bengali departments had put up outstanding performances by the senior students, whose spontaneity and vigour had mesmerized the audience. The evening came to a close with the traditional Christian narrative of the birth of Jesus Christ through a presentation of the Nativity play, followed by the cheerful and endearing appearance of the Santa.
The School Choir’s heartwarming songs and the Orchestra’s soulful tunes reverberated through the Multi-Purpose Hall. This special occasion was graced by the honoured presence of several dignitaries, Board members and guests. The school appreciated their encouraging presence by felicitating them. Food stalls were put up to set up the perfect spirit of the Christmas milieu; an evening of fun and frolic just before the Christmas holidays.
In fine, it would be best to express that a perfect evening of celebration has once again displayed not only the talents of the students, but also the dedication and hard work of the teachers; as well as the support and encouraging scaffolding constantly provided by the school authority. The St. Michael’s family has once again created memories that everyone would cherish for days to come.
