FAREWELL CLASS 12 (2023-2024)
“The best things in life are never lost, but will always continue to inspire us”. St. Michael’s School bid adieu to the students of class XII, for the session 2023-2024. Filled with emotions and zeal, the farewell ceremony was organized by the students of class XI on 6th February, 2024 in the School Auditorium. The day was a fiesta with friends and teachers, to reminisce joyous moments.
The function commenced with lighting of the lamp in the presence of the Principal, Mr. Charles Joseph Nyss; the Headmistress, Mrs. Sarika khimla; School Chaplain Reverend Sandipan Sinha; School Captain, Prajyakta Lodha and School Vice Captain, Arnab Haldar.
The programme started with a welcome dance presented by the students of class XI. Thereafter, the School Chaplain Reverend Sandipan Sinha pronounced the benediction after his soulful prayer which was followed by the Bible reading by the Headmistress.
A nostalgic song was presented by the students of class XI to cherish the school life memories. The School Captain, Prajakta Lodha, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Alma Mater. The programme showcased the multiple talents of class XI students, who presented an entertaining group dance, followed by melodious heart touching songs, and a wonderful dramatization of a play. One of the senior teachers, Mrs Anulekha Das Kanungo, addressed the children with an emotional speech. Recollecting the words of William Wordsworth, there was a spontaneous overflow of powerful emotions in the auditorium. As a token of love, St. Michael’s School rendered the students of class XII with beautiful mementos displaying the legacy of their Alma Mater.The mementos were presented to all the students of class XII, by the Principal, Mr. Charles Joseph Nyss, Headmistress Mrs. Sarika Khimla, school Chaplain Reverend Sandipan Sinha, accompanied by the Class Teachers of class XII. Thereafter, a student of class XII, Rangan Bhattacharya, sang a beautiful solo song highlighting the years of camaraderie shared by the students. The programme ended with a vote of thanks and an inspirational speech by the Principal, Mr. Charles Joseph Nyss.
All the students and the staff members, in presence of the Principal, Mr. Charles Joseph Nyss and the Headmistress, Mrs. Sarika Khimla, ended the farewell with the colourful ‘airships’ letting it to fly with the colours of dreams and ambitions soaring in the sky of future success , thus the day came to an emotional close.
