ANNUAL PRIZE DAY 2023-2024

St. Michael’s School, Durgapur organized the Prize Distribution Ceremony for the Academic Session 2023-2024 on Friday, 10th May, 2024 to felicitate the academic achievers. The gathering was enthralled by two classical dance performances in the first and second sessions for the Junior and Senior sections respectively. We were honoured to have amongst us the Chairman and Bishop of the Diocese of Durgapur Rt. Rev. Sameer Issac Khimla, Mrs. Sanghamitra Dasgupta, the Education Officer of D.M.C , Mrs. Swati Saha, Principal of AMIK, The Institute of Management, Science and Technology and other honourable dignitaries of the Diocese of Durgapur.
The esteemed guests were felicitated by the Principal, Mr. Charles Joseph Nyss and the Headmistress, Mrs. Sarika Gracie Khimla. Academic toppers from Pre-nursery to class XII were awarded with prizes and certificates for their merit. Students were also awarded with scholarships for their outstanding performances. St. David’s House was declared as the Cock House for their comprehensive achievements.
The Special Guest for the occasion addressed the gathering with her words of wisdom. The vote of thanks were delivered by the Headmistress and the Principal for the Primary and the Secondary sections, respectively. The presence of the parents and their whole-hearted support added grace to the occasion.
The Ceremony had begun with an invocation to the Almighty led by Revd. Sandipan Sinha. It came to a closure with the prayer by Revd. Samuel Halder, followed by the benediction offered by the Bishop. The programme came to an end with the School Song and the National Anthem. The smiles of joy on the faces of the achievers and the look of pride on the countenances of their teachers marked the day’s proceedings; once again proving that it is the success of students that means everything to the teachers and the institution.
